Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said a big political party of the country doesn’t own the Liberation War but uses it in the election manifesto to convince the voters.
“Those who don’t accept the settled issues of the Liberation War, including the historic March 7 and April 17, but use the Liberation War in the election manifesto, will be condemned in history,” he told journalists after placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in city’s Dhanmondi 32 marking the historic Mujibnagar Day.
AL Presidium Members Begum Matia Chowdhury and Abdul Matin Khasru, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain and Enamul Haque Shamim, Information and Research Secretary Afzal Hossain, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap and Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, among others, were present.
Earlier, Obaidul Quader placed wreath on the portrait of Bangabandhu on behalf of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Later, AL associate bodies and different socio-cultural organizations placed wreaths on the portrait.
