Actor Riaz Uddin Ahamed Siddique, hospitalised following complaints of chest pain, is out of danger.Known simply as Riaz in the Bangladesh film industry, he was rushed to Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka on Monday evening after he complained of acute chest discomfort.Lutfor Rahman Nirjhor, an acquaintance of the actor, tweeted on Tuesday that Riaz’s condition had improved.He later told us that doctors detected four blockages in the actor’s heart. One of them had blocked an artery, he said.“We were worried when his pulse dropped to 30. A pacemaker was initially used but later removed after several rings were placed to clear the blockages,” he said.“He can talk now. He said nothing would happen to him. He has a very strong heart. He took soup two hours ago,” Nirjhor said in the afternoon.
“He is in the ICU now. I hope he will be released tomorrow (Wednesday),” he added.Riaz felt unwell on the sets of the film ‘Krishnapakkha’.Actor Meher Afroz Shaon, wife of late writer and film director Humayun Ahmed, is the film’s director. Nirjhor has written the script.Quoting Shahabuddin Talukder, the doctor treating the actor, he said Riaz would undergo another surgery five days later for the placement of additional rings.
