Dhaka – A three-day agro-tech fair started on the occasion of Regional Network on Poverty Eradication (RENPER) international seminar at agriculture faculty corridor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh on Sunday.The fair organized by Regional Network on Poverty Eradication (RENPER) and BAU for reduction of poverty through new advance technology and understanding the importance of academia in discharging the roles of government and NGOs to combat poverty.
In stalls, different agro technology exhibits such as hydrophonics with aquaculture, sub-surface irrigation, newly developed variety of seeds, hybrid variety of seeds for sustainable agriculture, Power tiller seed sowing machine, vermi compost etc for all classes of visitors.
Fair organizing secretary Dr. Md. Mokhlesur Rahman said that the aim of the fair is that how Government and NGOs eradicate poverty by adopting newly developed advanced technologies in Bangladesh.
Former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin inaugurated the programme at 12:30 pm on Sunday.
BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ali Akbar and deputy VC of University Malaysia Kelantan & chairman of RENPER Prof Dato Dr Ibrahim Bin Che Omar presented at inaugural session.
In fair, about 21 different research and private organization stalls such as Bangladesh agricultural Research Institute (BARI), Bangladesh Rice research Institute, Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture, Seed Science society of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation, Bangladesh association for social advancement, Bangladesh Agricultural University Extension Centre, Bangladesh Forest research Institute, BRAC, Haychem BD Ltd, Ispahani Agro Ltd, Jayson Agrovet Ltd, Krishan Quality Agro Ltd, Lal Teer Seed Ltd, Proshika, Rural Development Academy, Seed pathology Centre (BAU), World Vision, Ma Pure madhu, Pran Foods Ltd. – BAU Correspondent
