Social crusader Anna Hazare is set to make a rare appearance on television. We are not talking about a prime-time debate on some news channel. This is going to be a unique appearance. Anna Hazare will be appearing as a guest on The Kapil Sharma Show, for which he shot on Friday. Anna, was the co-founder of the Aam Aadmi Party but severed all relations after his fallout with Arvind Kejriwal, will be telling us about his life and long fight against corruption. The social activist chose to become the guest on the popular comedy show in order to promote his upcoming biopic Anna: Kisan Baburao Hazare.
Anna: Kisan Baburao Hazare will be dubbed in English and other regional languages and will release on October 14.
The veteran Gandhian came into limelight in 2011 when he began a hunger strike demanding the government should enact a stringent anti-corruption law, The Lokpal Bill, to deal with corruption in the nation. And as much as his activism attracted global attention, so did it became the plot of a biopic.
Now Anna himself is promoting the film. Anna: Kisan Baburao Hazare also stars Tanisha Mukherjee as a young journalist researching on Anna’s social-political life. While Sony channel had confirmed his arrival on the show hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, we even got hold of some pictures straight from the sets.
Anna has been shot in real locations of Anna’s native village Ralegan-Siddhi, apart from Mumbai, New Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Rajasthan. The 130-minute long film has been directed by Shashank Udapurkar, who is also playing the lead part of Anna. The film also stars Rajit Kapoor, Sharat Saxena and Govind Namdeo in prominent roles.
