Annisul Huq takes broomstick to keep capital clean

Now it’s the turn of Awami League-supported mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation polls Annisul Huq to take broomstick to keep capital city clean and presenting it as a good habitable city.

Taking a broomstick in his hand, Annisul Huq as a symbolic cleaner along with the permanent cleaners of the conservancy department of Dhaka North City Corporation took part in keeping the city streets clean in front of Gulshan Shooting Club this noon (Saturday).

The mayor aspirant said, “It’s not possible for a mayor alone to keep Dhaka city clean and for the purpose a concerted effort is needed. If we all try together we can present a clean Dhaka city. So, I took part in the symbolic cleaning operation taking a broomstick in my hand to convince all that not the conservancy workers alone, all should cooperate for the purpose.”

“It’s my symbolic cleaning operation. I urge you all to create a scope for me so that I can serve your purpose for the next five years,” Annisul Huq said during his electioneering in the locality.

He took part in the “Clean Dhaka” campaign under the banner of Sachetan Shilpy Samaj, a platform of conscious artistes’ community. Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote president Advocate Tarana Halim, MP, senior vice-president and popular actor ATM Shamsuzzaman, Awami League joint general secretary Dr Dipu Moni and eminent cultural personalities including Ramendu Mazumdar, Dr Inamul Huq, SK Feroze, Sharmilee Ahmed, Bely Akhter, Tamalika Karmakar, Shahiduzzaman Bachchu, Arif Khan Joy, Murad Parvez and Sharmin Tussy took part in the campaign.
