bdnews24 adds: Police have arrested two women and three men from Old Dhaka for their suspected involvement in the abduction of a businessman.

Md Hakim, 55, a motorcycles parts dealer, was kidnapped from Bangshal on Thursday. He was rescued from a house in Jurain on Saturday morning. A woman named Bhaggya Rani was arrested from that house. Four others were also arrested from a nearby house.
Bangshal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Kuddus Fakir said police traced the kidnappers from a call made to Hakim’s family and a bKash number to which the ransom was deposited.
“We found Hakim in a tin-shed house in Jurain in the morning. We arrested a woman from there. From another house we arrested Shaon, Rana, Hridoy and Nishi,” he said.
Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam told reporters Nishi, who knew Hakim, was the key person in the kidnapping.
He said there were five to six kidnapping gangs operating in the capital, and all of them used women as aides. Some of them lure the victims by faking love affairs or get access to their homes as housemaids.
Hakim said he was picked up by several men who came out of a microbus as soon as he reached Bangshal intersection by a rickshaw.
“They made me call my brother Matin and ask him to send Tk 10,000 via bKash,” he said.
He also showed several injury marks on his body and said the kidnappers had beaten him with a hammer.
