BD community leader Helal A Sheikh contests New York City polls

NY – Most popular Bangladeshi community leader Helal A Sheikh candidate for Council Member of New York City. He officially starts his work to become the next New York City Council Member from District 32. Helal A. Sheikh is a former school teacher, submitted his petitions on July 10, 2017 , t Board of Elections in the City of New York situated in Manhattan. The petitions have been filed to run for elections to become the next City Council member from District 32.
A total of 2200 signatures were collected at the time of submission which were signed by the registered democrats of District 32. District 32 represents Belle Harbor, Breezy Point, Broad Channel, Hamilton Beach, Howard Beach, Lindenwood, Neponsit, Ozone Park, Rockaway Beach, Rockaway Park, South Ozone Park, South Richmond Hill, and Woodhaven.
The petitions were submitted at the office with the presence of Bangladeshi, Nepalese, African American, Caribbean, Indian, Guyanese and Latinos community leaders and activists along with his daughter. The final election of City Council 2017 from District 32 will be held on September 12, 2017. Mr. Sheikh’s candidacy is a proud moment for the Bangladeshi community along with all other Asian community. His race to be elected as the next City Council member from District 32 will require the support of all the registered Democrat voters from District 32 on September 12, 2017. As a City Council member, he wants to work for the development of the people of the community from District 32. Some of the issues he wants to preserve, promote and create are affordable housing, local businesses, after school programs, youth development programs and many more.
