In a span of four hours, the city residence of Dhaka district BNP president Abdul Mannan came under crude bomb and gun attacks twice on Friday.
Miscreants set off three crude bombs in front of the Dhanmondi residence of the BNP leader in the morning. BNP central leader Barrister Nasir Uddin Asim, also the son-in-law of Mannan, lives in the house. However, he was not present in the house during the attack as he is now abroad.
Officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station Masud Karim told UNB that the three crude bombs went off on the main road in front of the BNP leader’s house at Dhanmondi Road-1 around 10:30 am. Meanwhile, the criminals again fired two gunshots at the residence and blasted two more crude bombs in front of it in the afternoon.
Sohel Khan, personal security staff member of Mannan, said some unidentified miscreants fired the gunshots and blasted the crude bombs around 2:10pm. However, no one was hurt in the incidents. –UNB
