The Dhaka terror attack is still fresh on our minds. And now, director Agnidev Chatterjee is basing his next on the psychological aftermath of the terror strike. The Hindi film, titled Jihad, will star Rohit Roy, Rituparna Sengupta, Koneenica Banerjee, Shabaaz Khan, Rajesh Sharma and Rachel White.
The film starts with a high-voltage action sequence recreating the coffee shop massacre, where the protagonist Abhishek’s wife is killed in front of his eyes. A few years later, he marries Aparna out of compulsion. Aparna is trying to overcome her own grief of losing her son and first husband in a car accident, but agrees to marry Abhishek at the insistence of her mother.
One day, Abhishek who is a photojournalist with a French daily, disappears while on an assignment to Bosnia. Aparna, with Abhishek’s colleague Christina, combs Europe in search of her husband, only to be left stunned with her discovery.
