Cell set up at police HQ to help BD expatriates

A cell named Expatriate Help Cell (EHC), has been set up at the police headquarters to address the complaints of Bangladeshi expatriates.
Inspector General of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque disclosed this while briefing reporters at the police headquarters after a meeting on eid security on Monday. The EHC, to be operated under the command of Additional DIG (Special Crime) of the police headquarters, will monitor so that no expatriate falls victim to harassment as eight million Bangladeshis live abroad and send billions of dollars every year, the IGP said.
An Additional Deputy Commissioner in every metropolitan city and an Additional SP in every district are assigned to monitor all the expatriate issues, he said.
The IGP said expatriates can also lodge complaints with nearby police stations as officers-in-charge of the police stations across the country have been instructed to ensure prompt steps to address their complaints.
He said the expatriates, both at home (Bangladesh) or broad, are requested to submit their complaints and seek help making calls over +8801769690019 or email to expatriatehelp@police.gov.bd. – News Desk
