Dandy Dying case hearing on Khaleda’s reply June 30


The First Money Loan Court (Ortho Rin Adalat-1) of Dhaka on Sunday once again deferred the hearing on the replies from BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia and others in a case filed for a loan default of Tk 45.49 crore to June 30.
Judge Fatema Ferdous of the court passed the order asking the lawyer of Khaleda Zia to submit the written statement in the case lodged over Dandy Dying Limited to the court on behalf of Khaleda. The court also fixed June 30 for framing issue in the case.On March 22, the same court had summoned the BNP chairperson and her co-defendants to appear to it on April 12 in the case.
On March 16, the court had decided to include the name of BNP chairperson Khaleda
Zia, her late younger son Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman and their two minor daughters as inheritors of late Arafat Rahman Koko, one of the directors of the company, who passed away on January 24 last.
Earlier, on March 8, Sonali Bank’s senior executive officer Nazrul Islam filed the petition to the court as per the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC).
On October 2, 2012, Sonali Bank filed the case as the defendants failed to repay the loan, after issuing a final notice. The company had borrowed Tk 12.16 crore from Sonali Bank Limited’s principal branch in the capital on October 16, 2001. The company failed to pay off the principal loan with interest, accumulated 12 years, to Tk 45.49 crore. – Court Correspondent
