Dhaka – Daily Jugantor’s special correspondent Mizan Malik and news agency United News of Bangladesh’s district editor Rashed Shahriar Polash have been elected president and general secretary respectively of Dhaka-based Chandpur Journalists’ Forum for the next two years.
Forum’s adviser and chief reporter of the Dainik Ittefaq M Abul Khayer announced the new committee after its general meeting at a city hotel on Friday.
The other office-bearers are: Jagonews acting editor Mohiuddin Sarker (senior vice-president), special correspondent of The Financial Express Azizur Rahman (vice-president), special correspondent of NTV Shahfiq Shahin (senior joint secretary), senior reporter of the Amader Shomoy Dulal Hossain (joint secretary), ‘Channel i’ special correspondent Mazharul Haque Manna (organising secretary), Jamuna TV’s senior reporter Shahadat Hossain (finance secretary), Sunbd.com’s chief reporter Gias Uddin (office secretary), Sangbad staff reporter SM Zakir Hossain (publicity and publication secretary), Ekushey TV staff reporter Ibne Noor Shawon (sports secretary) and senior sub-editor of Amader Orthoneeti Sakhawat Hossain Mukul.
The executive committee members are Samakal’’s special correspondent Abu Kaiser, Jugantor’s senior sub-editor Jasim Uddin, Imran Hossain Sumon of ATN News, Prodiner Sangbad staff reporter Abdul Hai Tuhin and Ajker Patrika staff reporter Kazi Faisal.
Besides, co-opt members of the forum are former senior sub-editor of UNB Jakir Majumder, Jannaul Ferdous Tanvi, Arefin Shakil, Farid Uddin and Samsuzzaman Naim.UNB
