Dhaka – Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club registered their third successive win in the 12-team Dhaka Premier Cricket League as they routed Brothers Union by six wickets in the fourth round game at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) ground-4 in Savar on Saturday.The opening partnership of 82 off 19.2 overs between Imtiaz Hossain and Liton Kumar Das before Fazle Mahmud and Marshall Ayub’s 83 off 28.2 overs in the third wicket stand took Doleshwar within 15 runs away of their target of 215 for the win.Doleshwar chased down the target in 47.5 overs for the cost of four wickets where man of the match Fazle Mahmud (73 off 80b; 7×4; 2×6), Liton Kumar Das (43 off 60b; 6×4), Marshall Ayub (43 off 63b; 3×4) and Imtiaz Hossain (39 off 70b; 4×4) were the notable scorers.Brothers skipper Alok Kapali (3/47) and Nihaduzzaman (1/39) were the wicket takers for their side.Sent in to bat first, Brothers were all out for 214 in 46.5 overs with Mizanur Rahman (71 off 79b; 9×4; 2×6) top-scoring in the innings. Yasir Ali (44 off 47b; 4×4; 2×6), Myshukur Rahaman (28 off 48b; 3×4) and Iftekhar Sajjad (23 off 37b; 1×4) were other notable scorers for the side.Fazle Mahmud also starred with the ball, taking 3/49 in nine overs of left-arm spin. Ryan ten Doeschate also took three wickets while skipper Farhad Reza got two for 26 runs.Doleshwar started their campaign in the 5th edition of the league, losing to Shinepukur Cricket Club by five wickets and bounced back with one wicket victory against Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity in the 2nd round before routing Partex Sporting Club by 78 runs.With the day’s win, Doleshwar collected six points from four matches recording three wins and one loss to hold the 2nd slot in the league table. Sixth slot holders Brothers aggregated four points from four encounters with two wins and two losses.In another match on the day, Kalabagan Krira Chakra upset defending champions Gazi Group Cricketers by 55 runs at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.Sent in to bat first, Kalabagan KC scored 232/7 in 50 overs where man of the match Akbar-ur-Rehman (80 off 111b; 7×4; 2×6) and Taibur Rahman (50 off 82b; 4×6) made half centuries.Kamrul Islam Rabbi (2/57), Dolar Mahmud (2/36) and Rajat Bhatia (2/35) equally shared six wickets for the losing side.Gazi Group Cricketers were restricted to 177/10 in 45.1 overs with Imrul Kayes (74 off 78b; 5×4; 5×6) top-scoring in the innings.Akbar got four for 35 in 8.1 overs while Mahmudul Hasan (2/29) and Sanjit Saha (2/34) shared four wickets.Although Legends of Rupganj lost to Abahani Limited in another match of the league, they were holding the 3rd slot in the table collecting four points from four encounters, recording two wins and two defeats.
