Dr. Salim chairs an Int’l Seminar at CU


haka, Oct 18 – Professor DrDrd. Salim Uddin, FCA, FCMA, Chairman, Executive Committee of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited and Chairman, Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation addressed an international conference titled ‘Re-thinking Development in South Asia’ recently organized by the University of Chittagong. Dr. Salim chaired a session on Financial Inclusion and Development. Later, he distributed prizes and certificates among the participants. Local and international scholars, researchers, academics and development professionals attended the conference.
Dr. Md. Salim Uddin said, Financial institutions are the robust pillars of progress, economic growth and development of the country’s economy. Accessibility of financial services at affordable and appropriate prices can surely improve the financial condition and living standard of the poor and the deprived section. He also explained the role of the Islamic bank in the financial inclusion through redistribution of wealth by the application and practices of Zakat, waqf,qard e hasna, and Sadaquah in addition to other risk sharing products. – IBBL press release
