Fakhrul wants Govt quit taking responsibility for N’ganj murders

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday demanded the government to quit power by taking the responsibility of seven murders in Narayanganj.
“The responsibility of seven murders in Narayanganj not only goes to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) but the prime minister and government cannot escape their responsibility,” he said while addressing a discussion meeting at the National Press Club.
He also called upon the government to hand over power to a non-party government by tendering resignation.Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal organized the meeting protesting “false cases” against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman and transferring the trial of Khaleda to Alia Madrasha ground.
Fakhrul alleged that the RAB personnel have been involved in killing, enforced disappearance and abduction and not discharging their duties to ensure the safety and security of the people.
“Question has been arisen out about the necessity of RAB and that’s why Khaleda demanded disbandment of the RAB,” he added.
He said the country turned into a place of murderers, fascism and terrorists.
The BNP leader said the government must quit as it has no moral and people mandate to run the country.
He alleged that Khaleda has been implicated in false cases to keep her away from politics.
He called upon the Chhatra Dal leaders and activists to come forward to remove what he said the autocratic government.
Presided over by JCD president Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jwel, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Aman Ullah Aman, Fazlul Haque Milon, Dr Asaduzzaman, Abul Khair Bhuiyan and Sultan Salahuddin Tuku. – Staff Reporter
