Faraaz, Abinta, Ishrat buried


Dhaka-Three Bangladeshi victims of the Holey Artisan Bakery attack victims — Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain, Abinta Kabir and Ishrat Akhond — were laid to eternal rest on Monday.Ayaaz and Abinta were buried at Banani graveyard in the capital while Ishrat Akhond was buried at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (Bari) graveyard in Gazipur.
A namaz-e-janaza of Ayaaz and Abinta were held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asr prayers.
Prof Emeritus Anisuzzaman, Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq and former State Minister for Foreign Affairs Abul Hasan Chowdhury attended the janaza.
Meanwhile, Ishrat was buried at the Bari graveyard following her second janaza in the afternoon.
Ishraf’s brothers Yusuf Hayat Akhond, the chief scientific officer of Bari, and Ali Hayat Akhond, her maternal uncle Justice Obaidul Hassan, Prime Minister’s personal secretary Sajjadul Hassan and deputy commissioner of Gazipur SM Alam were present at the janaza.
Earlier, her first janaza was held at local mosque in Uttara in the capital after Johr prayers.
The trio was among the 20 hostages who were killed during the 12-hour long siege at Holey Artisan Bakery at Gulshan on July 1.
Faraaz was the grandson of Latifur Rahman, chairman of Transcom Group, and Shahnaz Rahman. He was the son of Simeen Hossain and Muhammad Waquer Bin Hossain.
Abinta and Faraaz both were students at Emory University in Atlanta. They returned to Bangladesh on the summer vacation.
