Firearms, Phensidyl, cumin seized in C’nawabganj


Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives seized contrabands, including firearms and ammunition, cumin and Indian Phensidyl syrup, from separate bordering areas of Gomostapur upazila of the district here early Saturday.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-43 battalion conducted a drive in Rokonpur bordering area and recovered one pistol, one round of bullet and four packets of cumin from the spot.Besides, the BGB members also recovered 300 bottles of Phensidyl from Shialmara bordering area and 50 bottles of Phensidyl from Chanshikari bordering area around 1 am.However, no one was arrested in this connection.The seized firearms, bullets, Phensidyl and cumin were deposited to Gomostapur Police Station, said Rokonpur BoP Commandar Nayeb Subedar Motaleb Mia.UNB Natore correspondent reports: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested an alleged criminal along with two sharp weapons from Banbelgharia in the town on Friday.The arrested was identified as Setu.Meanwhile, the elite force recovered three petrol bombs from near a mill in an abandoned condition at Ekdala in sadar upazila in the evening. -UNB, Chapainawabganj
