The government has been constructing Shilpakala Academy building at 488 upazilas to spread the cultural activities in the country.
“The cultural ministry undertaken a project styled ‘Establishment of Shilpakala Academy in division and district level’ to construct Shilpakala Academy at 488 upazilas to expand creativity and arts for enriching country’s cultural activities,” Director General of Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky told BSS here today.
“It was in the election manifestos of the government to create cultural environment for providing a more colourful, beautiful and peaceful cultural heritage for future generations,” said the Academy chief.
“LGED has been supporting to complete the project with the financial support of the ministry,” he added. There would be an open stage for 500 people at every building.
“Construction work of 12 buildings has started with a fund of Taka 19 crore under the project and construction work of five building has completed while the ministry has selected land at 63 upazilas,” Director (maintenance) of Shilpakala Academy Shukhdev Chandra Das told BSS
