State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given top priority to the sector of science education and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to turn the students and youths into efficient human resources.
He said people of the country including its rural ones are enjoying benefits of the ICT by dint of significant success in the sector.
He made this observation while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a
two-day ‘Science Fiesta 2016’ at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium of Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday as the chief guest.
Rajshahi University Science Club (RUSC) organized the festival aiming
to spread the science to all. The festival included project show competition, science Olympiad, science talk, oral research presentation competition, science business idea presentation.
RU VC Prof Md Mizanuddin and Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan spoke as special guests with RUSC President Arif Jahangir in the chair.
State Minister Shahriar Alam highlighted the enormous aspects of expanding science education towards building digital Bangladesh.
He mentioned that time has come to build science-based skilled and
knowledge-based human resources to take the nation forward as the demand science and ICT experts is gradually increasing in both home and abroad.
“There is no alternative to science and technology for the country to
survive in a challenging world. All the developed countries have reached to their desired and leading position because of their devotion to science and technology,” he added, reports BSS from Rajshahi.
