Police have found evidence over the involvement of Ariful Islam Sohel, owner of ‘Ghoroa Hotel and Restaurant’, in the killing of its employee Riyad.Talking to UNB, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Muntashirul Islam said police have already collected the video footage from the under-construction building of Swamibagh where victim Riyad along with several other employees of the restaurant had been residing.
After scrutinizing the video footage, police found the involvement of three people, including hotel owner Sohel in the murder, the DC (Media) said.
Letters have already been sent to all land ports and airports so that no one of them can flee the country, he said adding, “We’re hopeful they’ll be arrested soon.”
Riyad was shot dead allegedly by his employer Ariful Islam Sohel at Swamibagh in the city early Wednesday.
Earlier on Thursday, police arrested Jasim alias Grill Jasim from the city’s Motijheel area in connection with the killing.
Victim’s elder brother Ripon Hossain filed a case with Wari Police Station accusing three people, including hotel owner Sohel and its employee Grill Jasim, of the murder.
Sohel went into hiding after the incident.
