India 462 for 6 on third day


Visiting India scored 462 for 6 wickets at stumps on the rain-interrupted third day against Bangladesh in the one-off Test match of the Za’n Zee Ice Cream Cricket Series at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Friday.
The Tigers who failed to break the visitors’ batting castle on day one bounced back on the third day claiming all the six wickets with first one falling at 283.
World class all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan took four wickets for 105 runs while leg-break spin bowler Jubair Hossain grabbed the rest two wickets conceding 113 runs.
India resumed their first innings on Friday, after the second day’s play was called off due to rain, on 239 for no loss in 56 overs and faced 47.3 more overs on the third day to take their tally to 462/6 in 103.3 overs.
Dhawan-Vijay opening stand contributed 283 runs in 67.5 overs while Vijay made another contribution of 114 runs in 22.4 overs pairing with Ajinkya Rahane in the fourth wicket stand.
Shakib has broken wicket draught grabbing centurion Dhawan caught and bowled first. Dhawan added only 23 runs on the third day to score 173 off 195 balls featuring 23 fours on his way to third Test century mission.
Shakib dismissed another big fish Vijay by trapping lbw who completed his sixth Test century on the third day scoring 150 runs off 272 balls involving 12 fours and only six for the visitors.
On his way to the four-wicket haul, Shakib also bowled out Rohit Sharma (6) as well as Ajinkya Rahane who scored 89 off 103 balls with 14 fours.
Jubair Hossain bowled out Indian skipper Virat Kohli (14) and number six Wriddhiman Saha (6) conceding 113 runs in his 19 overs spell.
Harbhajan Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin were on batting scoring 7 and 2 runs respectively.
