Speakers at an anti-corruption coordination meeting have stressed for bringing up of the young students with honesty, good moral character and patriotism to inspire them in building a corruption-free society.They stressed for educating school students on values of honesty in creating anti-corruption sentiment for changing their behavior in building a corruption free society to accelerate uplift and make the independence meaningful for every citizen.The District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC) organised the meeting on Sunday afternoon at Rangpur Government Girls’ High School for members of the ‘Satota Sangha’ (Integrity Unit) its Advisory Council Members and teachers of the school.The District Combined Office of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and RDRS Bangladesh under the Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project extended cooperation in organising the meeting.The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has been implementing the JRCP Project through GO-NGO collaboration under financial assistance of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ).With Headmistress of the reputed educational institution Mrs. Farida Yasmin in the chair, Deputy Director of Rangpur District Combined Office of the ACC Kamrul Ahsan attended and addressed the meeting as chief guest. General Secretary of DCPC Akbar Hossain, its Member Khademul Islam Basunia (Musician), Member and Senior Reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Mamun Islam and Member Advocate Zakia Sultana Choitee addressed as special guests. Members of the Advisory Council of ‘Satota Sangha’ of the institution including Assistant Teachers Nilufar Banu, Prashanto Kumar Roy and Waleda Begum, President of the 11-member executive committee of the ‘Satota Sangha’ Saima Rahman and its General Secretary Mandira Sarker and Member Kaniz Siddique spoke.General Secretary of DCPC and valiant freedom fighter Akbar Hossain narrated the goals and objectives of the anti-corruption coordination meeting.District Manager of JRCP Project Ershad Md Rasel discussed on the anti-corruption activities conducted last year and draft annual action plan on anti-corruption activities to be conducted by the ‘Satota Sangha’ in the institution this year.Upazila Manager of the JRCP Project of RDRS Bangladesh Tahmina Akhter and its Filed Facilitator Azim Ali coordinated the meeting.The speakers put emphasis on building good moral character and capability of the students in showing respect to their parents and senior citizens in motivating them against corruption and taking part in extra curricular and social welfare activities.The chief guest called for arranging various school level anti-corruption programmes, meetings, debate and essay competitions for building anti-corruption sentiment among the young students to strengthen activities of ‘Satota Sangha’ to achieve the goals.BSS, Rangpur
