Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL), student wing of ruling Awami League, of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit on Sunday protested the reported death threat by banned Islamic organisation Ansarullah Bangla Team on its central general secretary Seddiqiue Nazmul Alam.
Led by JU unit BCL general secretary Razib Ahmed Rasel, around 100 leaders and activists brought out a demonstration here at the campus. BCL organising Secretary Murshidur Rahman Akand and Faisal Hossen Dipu, office secretary Shahidul Islam Saif and cultural secretary Abdul Qaiyum Bipul were also present.Starting from JU transport premises the protest procession went u to Amar Ekhushy premises and was followed by a protest rally.
The speakers demanded immediate arrest of the responsible who issued the death threat and bring them under the exemplary punishment.
The outlawed group issued the threat through a letter sent to the Seddiqiue Nazmul.
General secretary, Razib Ahmed Rasel vowed all concerned students will be united against the conspiracy and resist them. – JU Correspondent
