Junior Tigers aim to seal final berth in ICC U-19 WC


Motivated Bangladesh U-19 team embarked on a new mission to secure the coveted final as they face visiting West Indies U-19 team in the second semi-final of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup scheduled to be held tomorrow (Thursday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.The much-awaited match kicks off at 9 am.

The expectation of the Tigers’ fans reached high following their hero’s impressive performance in the group phase matches as well as the quarter- finals.The Bangladesh team made a flying start in the tournament beating tournament favorite South Africa in their opening match and crushed Scotland by 114 runs in their second group match. The junior Tigers finished as top of group B with an overwhelming eight-wicket victory over Namibia in the third group matches.Bangladesh made the history as they reached the semi-final stage for the first time in the Under-19 World Cup beating Nepal by six-wickets.The partisan Tigers’ fan believe that their team would maintain this winning spree against West Indies in the semi-finals and make another history by reaching, for the first time, in the final of the tournament.On the other hand, West Indies were beaten by England by 61 runs in their group opening match, but bounced back in the second match with a massive 262- run victory over Fiji. The Caribbean side then managed a narrow margin of
two-run victory over Zimbabwe in their third group match.The West Indies confirmed their last four berth with an overwhelming five-
wicket victory against Pakistan in the quarter-final stage.Earlier, India stormed into the final as they eliminated Sri Lanka by 97
