The chiefs of the country’s two major political parties greet each other during two Eid festivals and Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bangla calendar, though they have long been avoiding each other to personally meet or exchange pleasantries.
The two top leaders were last seen together on September 10, 2009 at an Iftar party organised by the Armed Forces Division. Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated in the country either on July 6 or 7 subject to moon sighting.
