BCL rejoiced the verdict bringing our a procession

Dhaka, 08 Feb – Denouncing the verdict awarded on BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, a human chain was formed on Jahangirnagar University (JU) Thursday.Nationalist Teacher-Officer- Stuff Forum of the university, arranged the human chain in the premises of the Central Shahid Minar, at about 3:00pm.
Terming Feb 8 the ‘black day in the democratic history of Bangladesh’, Prof Dr. Kamrul Ahsan of Philosophy dept. said: ‘Democracy has been jailed through this verdict, not Khaleda Zia. This day will be being observed for decades’.
Prof Dr. Abdul Latif Masum of Government and Politics dept. said: ‘This fabricated and motivated verdict has paved the way to downfall of the government’.
Khaleda Zia will be freed in the face of mass-movement, not by maintaining court and case any more, he added.
Among others, Prof Dr. Sayed Kamrul Ahsan of Archaeology dept., Prof Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam Selim of Gov’t and Politics dept., Prof Dr. Md. Sharif Uddin of Mathematics dept. and Assoc. Prof Dr. Nurul Islam of Geography and Environment dept. were present.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Jahangirnagar University unit in anticipation of the verdict, brought out a procession of joy on the campus.
The procession, lead by JU BCL unit president Jewel Rana and secretary SM Abu Sufian Chanchal, started from the Transport Yard at around 3:00pm and ended at the same pint after parading the important streets of the campus. – JU Correspondent
