Khijir Hayat Khan has sporadically tried his luck in acting. The filmmakers prominently known for trying his luck with the first film on Bir Shrestho Motiur Rahman and the first sports film of the country- Jaago has taken up yet another daring venture this time as a producer. On March 25 at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation a press conference was organised to unveil the first trailer of his film “Mr Bangladesh.” The film would address terrorism in the name of misinterpreted religion and the true ethical path to fighting demons.Present at the press conference were Cultural Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, director of the film Abu Aktarul Iman and Khijir Hayat Khan. The director who was also part of the Cannes hit Matir Moyna’s team said to this correspondent that even if one person returns from extremist path after watching the film, it would be successful. But if none returns then the film would be a failure. He further added that the film would outline a terrorist’s strategy to draw in economically frustrated youth. Apart from the necessary action scenes the film does have artistic revelations to impart its message.
Mr Bangladesh is about how a couple of young men embark on the route to extremism. On the other hand a simple going man loses his beloved wife and child in a suspected militant attack. Losing everything he loved this man goes undercover to thwart a future terrorist attack in Dhaka. Khijir Hayat Khan acts in the lead role in the film. The idea of making the film came to him after the terrorist attack on Holey Artisan Bakery. A close friend of his died as a terrorist in the counter attack by Army Commandos. This moved Khijir Hayat Khan. Thus he started the production of Mr Bangladesh. The shooting of the film wrapped up in February and Khijir Hayat Khan is looking to release in July. Khijir claims that a number of more friends of his have also joined the dark world.
Apart from Khijir other actors of the film are Shanarei Debi Shanu, Tiger Roby, Shahriar Sajib, Shamim Hasan Sarkar etc.
