Two suspected, arrested in the murder case filed in connection with the killing of Khijir Khan, former chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board were placed on a three-day remand each for interrogation by police, on Thursday afternoon. Magistrate Md Rashed Talukder of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka passed the order as Detective Branch Inspector Md Azizur Rahman pleaded for a ten-day remand.
The accused persons are Tarikul Islam Tarek, 23, and Md Alek Bepari. The Detective Branch policemen arrested Tarikul in Tangain whle Alek was arrested in Mirpur area of the city.
Md Ashraful Islam, son of slain Khijir Khan was present in the courtroom during the hearing. However, no lawyer appeared to the court on behalf of the accused. Unidentified assailants slaughtered the victim at his Gudaraghat residence of Badda in the capital on October 5.
