‘Low quality medical and surgican equipment cause deaths’


Rajshahi, March 10 – A daylong seminar on medical technology titled ‘Seminar on High-tech Medical Equipment and Modular OT’ held in Rajshahi on Saturday.Science Engineering and Services of Bangladesh and Sim International Marketing of India jointly organized the seminar at a restaurant of the city where more than fifty doctors, clinic and diagnosis centers’ owners and medical officers participated.
Sudhir Bansal, managing director of Asia Mediacorp in New Dilhi, India addressed the programme as the keynote speaker.
Among others, Rajshahi University Medical Center chief officer Dr Tabibur Rahman, Rajshahi Clinic Association general secretary Mokhlesur Rahman spoke at the programme. Rajshahi Metropolitan Hospital’s owner Mahfuzur Rahman Chowdhury Milon conducted the programme.
The speakers said that many people die every year in the country due to the insufficiency of medical equipment and lack of proper OT systems.
“Most the clinic and diagnosis owners of our country are interested in using cheaper equipments—they use low-priced products to save their cost, but do not care about the services. Even they use some products those are harmful for the patients”, said Shudhir Bansal.
The speakers also stressed for using standard medical equipments in every medical and clinic hospital to provide a fair and fruitful health services.
Later, Sudhir Bansal also held a virtual exhibition on various quality-based medical equipments. – RU Correspondent
