Madrasah teachers to get salary like schools’ soon: Nahid



Minister for Education Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said the teachers of Madrasah will soon get their salaries as per the new pay scale like the teachers of the schools and colleges.He further told the madrasah teachers not to be worried of their salaries because the government is working with it.

“There is no reason to be worried about salaries. The education secretary is working with it. It is taking some time because the number of teachers is huge,” he said while addressing a conference of Bangladesh Jamiatul Mudarreseen, a single and largest organisation of madrasah teachers and employees, at the Gausul Azam complex in the capital.

“A group is trying to spread confusion about the salaries of teachers. Do not give ear to such confusion,” Nahid said.

About the monthly pay order (MPO) facility for the newly established school, college and Madrasah, he said, “It will be done later.”

About the Ebtedayee madrasah, he said, “We have established Islamic Arabic University. The problems of Ebtedayee madrasah will be addressed. It will take time. Have some patience.”

Planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal as special guest said, “Confusion and misleading information is spread in the country in the name of Islam. The Islamic Arabic University will remove such confusion.”

About the demands of the Madrasah teachers, he said, “The prime minister is very cordial about Madrasah education. All the problems of Madrasah including salary and allowances will be addressed.”

President of Bangladesh Jamiatul Mudarreseen AMM Bahauddin, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on religious affairs Bazlul Haque Harun, education secretary Md Sohrab Hossain, vice chancellor of Islamic Arabic Universtiy Prof Dr. Mohammad Ahsan Ullah, vice-president and secretary general of Jamiatul Mudarreseen Mawlana Ruhul Amin Khan and Mawlana Shabbir Ahmad Momtaji, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
