Haji Saripuddin Bin Haji told Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali of the plan on Monday.
The foreign ministry said the secretary general informed the minister that Malaysia wanted to meet “a significant portion of its demand for extra work force from Bangladesh”.
He led a Malaysian delegation at the 6th Joint Working Group meeting held on Monday at the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment including ‘G to G Plus’ mechanism for recruitment of Bangladeshi workers.
He told the foreign minister that Malaysia had opened all of its sectors including construction and services.
Ali apprised Saripuddin of the initiatives Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken for the welfare of Bangladesh workers intending to seek employment in foreign countries.
