Man hacked dead ‘by son-in-law’ in Rajshahi


A man was hacked to death allegedly by his son-in-law over a family feud at Baneshwar Raghurampur village in Puthia upazila early Saturday.The deceased was identified as Abdul Jalil, 48, a resident of the village.Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Puthia Police Station, said Anwar Hossain, son-in-law of Abdul Jalil, along with his nephew Ripon stabbed Jalil indiscriminately while he was collecting date juice around 5:30 am, leaving him dead on the spot.Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.Police arrested Ripon and his father Abdur Rashid in this connection while Anwar managed to flee. –UNB, Rajshai
