The present government has taken steps for ensuring maximum facilities, better management and providing training for the hajj pilgrims to assist them in conducting the religious ritual in a hassle-free manner.
High officials said this at the concluding ceremony of a daylong ‘Inspiring Hajj Pilgrims and Training Workshop’ organised by Islamic Foundation of Bangladesh (IFB) at its divisional office auditorium in the city on Saturday afternoon.
With Deputy Director of the Local Government for Rangpur Ershadul Haque in the chair, Joint Secretary (Hajj, Grants & Organisations) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Alhaj Hassan Jahangir Alam attended the workshop as the chief guest.
Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Hajj Office) Md Mizanur Rahman and its Deputy Secretary (Hajj) Mohammad Jahangir Alam were present as the special guests.
Former religious teacher of Rangpur Zila School Alhaj Mofidul Islam Chowdhury took part as the main resource person and discussed the necessary preparations, ‘Arkans’ and ‘Ahkams’ in conducting the Hajj rituals properly.
Deputy Director of IFB for Rangpur Alhaj Saidur Rahman Sayeed delivered the welcome speech narrating the facilities and assistance being provided to the official Hajj pilgrims by the present government.
Noted social worker Alhaj Khwaja Ahmed and General Manager of Polli Bidyut Samity Rangpur-1 Alhaj Dewan Tofazzal Hossain also addressed the training workshop.
A total of 200 Hajj pilgrims, who are expecting to perform the holy religious rituals this year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under official managements, from all over the district, participated in the training workshop.
The speakers encouraged the pilgrims for availing the facilities being provided by the government and discussed necessary rules and religious rituals needed for correctly performing the holy hajj by the pilgrims.
At the end, Peer Saheb of Barkotia Khanka Sharif Hazrat Moulana Shah Ahmed Sayed conducted the munajat. -BSS, Rangpur
