Earthquake jolts Dhaka, other areas

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake shook Dhaka, Chattogram and some other parts of the country on Friday.



Dhaka, Jan 21 :  A 5.4 magnitude earthquake shook Dhaka, Chattogram and some other parts of the country on Friday afternoon, said the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The tremor was felt around 4:12 pm.

According to the USGS the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 56.8 kilometers (35.29 miles) near Falam, Myanmar.

However, no casualties were reported so far, reports UNB.
