Navy rescues 20 fishermen from Bay

Dhaka – The Bangladesh Navy has rescued 20 fishermen from a sunken boat, caused by the Cyclone Mora, from the Bay of Bengal. UNB news reported
After ‘Mora’ lashed Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong coastal areas on Tuesday morning, a team of Bangladesh Navy, split into five groups, launched a rescue operation along with 15 ships, one helicopter and one patrol flight at different coastal areas, including St.Martin, Teknaf and Kutbdia, Chittagong and Khulna.
During the operation, the team rescued the 20 fishermen from the sunken boat near Kutubdia of Cox’s Bazar district in the Bay, said a press release issued by the ISPR on Wednesday. The rescued fishermen were given first aid.
Besides, two Navy ships– Somudro Avijan and Khadem –- distributed relief and medicines among the cyclone-affected people in St. Martin and Kutubdia, added the release
