Dhaka (UNB)– Police in a drive arrested four people for their suspected link to the killing of a muezzin in Islampur area of Old Dhaka from different parts of the city on Tuesday.
Identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately.
Details of the drive will be disclosed at a press briefing later, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police M Maruf Hossain Sarder.
Earlier on April 4, Billal Hossain, 55, muazzjin of ‘Jabbar Khan Jam-e-Masjid’, was found stabbed dead inside the mosque in Islampur area of the city.
He had been living in a room of the three-storey mosque.
