A Dhaka court yesterday (Sunday) placed three physicians of a private hospital of the city on a fresh remand for one day in a case filed for the deaths of two newborn babies due to their negligence.Magistrate Rashed Talukder of Dhaka CMM Court passed the order after hearing on a fresh remand for seven days. On Thursday, SI Kamal Krishna Saha of Mohammadpur Police Station and also the Investigation Officer of the case sought a seven-day fresh remand for the accused to interrogate them further in the incident.
The accused physicians are: Dr Shishir Ranjan Das, 55, Dr Abdullah Al Ahad and Dr Aftab Uddin. They have been working at Asian Cadiac and General Hospital, located in Block B of Lalmatia in the city.
Earlier, on October 4, another Dhaka court placed them on a three-day remand each for police interrogation while the newborns died in the private hospital on October 2 night allegedly from negligence of the accused physicians.
