AL central leaders, ministers visit flood affected areas


As per the direction of the Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the central leaders of AL as well as ministers have started to visit the country’s flood-affected areas in a bid to stand beside flood victims.Central leaders of the ruling party including AL presidium member and road, transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, its joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, AL executive member SM Kamal, among others.
Some central leaders led by Bridge minister Obaidul Quader visited flood-affected areas of Harirampur Upazila in Manikganj district visited yesterday distributed relief products among the thousand flood-affected people there.
As part of the relief distribution ceremony, Manikganj district Awami League inaugurated a bread-making projected to help the flood victims. Besides, a group of central leaders led by AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif yesterday visited Kurigram district and distributed relief products among the flood affected people.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime minister Sheikh Hasina had called upon all people including her party leaders and workers to stand by the flood-affected people in different parts of the country.
Meanwhile, though the flood situation is improving in the areas around the Brahmaputra and Jamuna rivers in Gaibandha, Jamalpur, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Sirajganj, and Bogra districts, people at these adjacent areas are still suffering most.-STAFF REPORTER
