Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim on Friday said the national election will surely be held by January 24 next year and
people are eagerly waiting for that.
Addressing a programme at Swadhinata Square at Sirajganj Bazar Station, Nasim also alleged that although people have no interest in
any movement against the government, a Dhaka-based quarter is trying to destroy the environment for national election by spreading rumours
of a countrywide conflict.
The programme was organised by the recently nationalised registered Primary School Teachers’ Association of the district.
“The BNP-led 18-party alliance is trying to fish in the troubled waters with any issue by spreading rumours centring October 25 (BNP
grand rally in Dhaka),” he said.
“Nothing will happen on October 25, and the AL leaders and activists will be there on the field on that they to ensure it,” Nasim added.
He also said the administration will take necessary steps against those who will try to disturb peace on that day. – UNB
