Dhaka-An all-round performance by Delwar Hossain guided Prime Bank Cricket Club to taste the 2nd win in their 6th match of the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League beating Agrani Bank Cricket Club by 42 runs at Khan Shaheb Osmani Stadium in Fatullah on Wednesday.After the match, both the Prime Bank and Agrani Bank have secured four points each from six outing, but in net run- rate Prime Bank advanced to the 9th slot in the 12-team league forcing Agrani Bank to the 11th place.Sent in to bat first, Prime Bank CC scored a moderate 272 for 8 in stipulated 50 overs, featuring 94 runs in the opening stand by Mehedi Maruf and Mehrab Hossain Junior.Mehedi Maruf scored 54 runs off 66 balls hitting five fours and one six while Mehrab Hossain Junior contributed 80-ball 52 runs including two boundaries.Lower order Delwar Hossain quick-fired an unbeaten 41 runs off just 14 balls, featuring one four and five sixes, Ariful Haque made 49-ball 39 runs with one fours and a six, Al Amin scored 25 runs off 40 balls with two fours while Nahidul Islam bagged 21 runs off 20 balls, hitting two sixes.Shariful Islam and Pakistani Reza Ali Dar grabbed two wickets each conceding 45 and 50 runs respectively while veteran spinner Abdur Razzak and Azmir Ahmmed took one wicket apiece.Chasing a good total, Agrani Bank faced an initial batting jolt losing top three wickets for 15 runs in 5.3 overs, but they finally scored 230 for all in 46.5 overs, featuring 95 runs in the 4th wicket stand by Dhiman Ghosh and Raza Ali Dar.Middle order batsman cum wicket-keeper Dhiman Ghosh top scored for the Agrani Bank hammering a polished 74-ball 73 runs with five hits to the fence and two over the fence while Reza Ali Dar scored 42 runs off 64 balls hitting three boundaries.Besides, Jahid Javed made an unbeaten 48 runs off 64 balls,including three boundaries, tail-ender Mohammad Ishaque scored run-a-ball 34 with two hits across the rope and two over the rope.Delwar Hossain, who displayed his brilliance in batting quick-firing 41 runs, also displayed his mantle in bowling to grab three wickets for 41 runs and was adjudged the man of the match.Besides, national pacer Rubel Hossain also claimed three wickets for 44 runs and another pacer Shafiul Islam took two for 44 runs.UNB news agency
