Dhaka – Prime Bank Cricket Club defeated table topper Gazi Group Cricketers by seven wickets in the 11th round match of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Sunday.Despite the day’s loss, Gazi Group maintained the top slot in the table to move to the super-six stage, collecting 18 points from 11 games with nine wins and two losses.The remaining five teams of the super-league –Abahani Limited (16 points with eight wins and three losses), Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club (16 points with eight wins and three losses), Prime Bank Cricket Club (16 points with eight wins and three losses), Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club (14 points with seven wins and four losses) and Mohammedan Sporting Club (12 points with six wins and five losses) — are respectively placed from 2nd to 6th after 11th round.In the day’s match, chasing a target of 215 runs, Prime Bank reached their destination scoring 218 for 3 in 46.5 overs where Zakir Hasan and Abhimanyu Easwaran shared 107 in 22.2 overs in the 2nd stand.Man of the match Zakir retired with 66 runs and Abhimanyu stayed for 52 runs. Al-Amin played for unbeaten 41 runs while Taibur Rahman and skipper Mehedi Maruf added 33 and 16 runs respectively.Hossain Ali, Parvez Rasool and Mominul Haque took one wicket each for the losing side.Sent into bat first, Gazi Group scored 214 for all in 50 overs spurred by the 3rd wicket stand of 149 in 31 overs between Mominul Haque and Jahurul Islam.Mominul played an innings of 79 off 106 balls, including three boundaries and one six, while Jahurul retired with 66 runs. Skipper Nadif Chowdhury (26) and Suhrawadi Shuvo(15) were the two other double digit scorers for the side.Nazmul Islam captured three wickets for 45 runs while Al-Amin Hossain and Taibur Rahman took two wickets each for 20 and 22 runs respectively.  Meanwhile, Kalabagan Krira Chakra secured a five-wicket victory against Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity in the 1st phase dead-rubber game at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground 4 in Savar on the day.Kalabagan Krira Chakra chased a down a target of 205 for 5 in 47.5 overs spurred by the 2nd          pair contribution of 104 in 25 overs between Jashimuddin and former Bangladesh national team captain Mohammad Ashraful.Man of the match Jashimuddin played an innings of 89 off 105      balls, including 11 boundaries, while Ashraful stayed for 56 off 106 balls, including three boundaries.Suraj Randiv captured three wickets for 31 runs while Rafsan Al Mahmud and Tanvir Islam took one wicket each for Khelaghar SKS. Sent in to bat first, Khelaghar SKS scored 204 for 7 in 50 overs with Rafsan Al Mahmud top-scoring 71 off 98 balls, including six boundaries.Arifurzaman Sagor        was another notable scorer with 46 runs for the losing side.Saad Nasim bagged three wickets for 34 runs while Nabil Samad took two for 30 runs.Bottom six teams (placed from 7th to 12th respectively) are Legends of Rupganj (12 points with six wins and five losses), Brothers Union (10 points with five wins and six losses), Kalabagan Krira Chakra (eight points with four wins and seven losses), Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity (six points with three wins and eight losses), Partex Sporting Club (two points with one win and 11 losses) and Victoria Sporting Club (two points with one win and 11 losses).UNB news agency
