Rail link with Sylhet snapped


Sylhet’s rail communication with other parts of the country has remained snapped since early hours of Thursday as a huge mass of soil, under the rail track, was washed away by rainwater at Vanugach in Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar.

Rustam Ali Fakir, station master of Kamalganj rail station, said the rail track became unfit for train movement as the soil under it moved away due to rainwater.Two trains-Jalalabad Express and Udayan Express – remained stuck at Vanugach rail station and Shayestaganj rail station respectively.A team has already been sent to the spot to repair the rail track, the station master added.
