Yesterday was the 76th anniversary of legendary Bangla film star Nayak Raj Razzak. Marking the day, several organizations and individuals organized diverse programs.Bangladesh Film Direc-tors Association organized a commemorative program at Bangladesh Film Development Corpora-tion’s Zahir Raihan Colour Lab where Razzak’s peers and followers recalled their memories of the late actor-director-producer.
Two music videos recalling the memory of the actor were uploaded on Monday midnight on three YouTube channels. Laser Vision uploaded a music video of Suman Kalyan’s song titled ‘Tumi Surjo, Tumi Alo’.
A music video of child singer Atiqa Rahman Momo’s was uploaded on two channels. Moreover, TV channels will air special programs marking the day.
Razzak, the actor who made tremendous contributions to Bangla cinema, and won the hearts of millions over the years, he died on 21 August in 2017 at United Hospital in the capital.
Born on January 23 in 1942 at Nagtola in Taliganj of Kolkata, Razzak is referred to as Nayak Raj Razzak, a title given by Ahmed Zaman Chow-dhury, editor of the magazine Chitrali.
Razzak won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor five times for his roles in the films Ki Je Kori (1976), Ashikkhito (1978), Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo (1982), Chandra-nath (1984) and Jogajog (1988). He was awarded the Independence Day Award in 2015 by the Government of Bangladesh.
