For the first time, Indian actress Rituparna Sengupta and Bangladeshi actor Arifin Shuvoo have paired up for a big screen venture. Renowned actor and filmmaker, Alamgir will direct the film titled Ekti Cinema’r Golpo, and its shooting commenced on Saturday, at the BFDC through a launching ceremony.
Arifin Shuvoo, whose latest cop thriller Dhaka Attack is set to come out on October 6, has expressed in the ceremony that he would “learn many things” alongside working with seasoned actor like Rituparna Sengupta.
“I had never worked with Rituparna Sengupta, but that does not mean we have never met before. We have met and had long conversations regarding work. You can say that we have a good rapport together. She is an experienced actor, and I have always wanted to work with such actors. I believe I will learn many things from her,” the Bangladeshi actor said in the launching ceremony.
“I feel great when I sign up for a new film. And when the film is directed by an icon of our film industry like Alamgir sir, then the enthusiasm can only increase. I am hopeful that I have worked in such a good project, and I am calling this a good project because Alamgir sir is an experienced artist. And knows how films work,” Shuvoo added.
Alongside directing the film, Alamgir will play a major role in it while Ekti Cinema’r Golpo also stars Champa and Syed Hasan Imam.
Legendary singer Runa Laila is to compose and sing for the film.
Produced by Icon Entertainment, Alamgir’s production house, the film’s shooting will continue till September 25, and with a short pause the filming will be wrapped up within October.
