Robbers gun down Ansar member at Teknaf barrack


Cox’s Bazar – An Ansar member was gunned down by robbers while looting a barrack of the force inside the Rohingya refugee camp in Teknaf upazila early Friday.

The deceased was identified Ali Hossain, 55, son of Shukkur Ali, a resident of Tangail district.
Mohammad Kashem, an Ansar inspector, said a gang of armed robbers stormed the barrack at Shalbagan inside Muchni registered Rohingya camp around 2:20 am.
When Ansar member Ali Hossain tried to resist them, the robbers opened fire at him, leaving him critically injured.
Later Ali was rushed to the Ansar camp hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The robbers also looted 11 firearms and some explosives from the barrack, said Ansar member Alamgir Hossain.
Ali Hossain, deputy commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, visited the spot.
