Six suspected robbers lynched in C’Nawabganj, Narsingdi


Six suspected robbers were killed in separate incidents of lynch-mob attack in Chapainawabganj and Narsingdi districts last night.
Of them, four were killed in Gomastapur upazila of Chapainawabganj district and two in Gandardia in Monohardi upazila of Narsingdi district.
The four alleged robbers were killed in a mass beating in Gomastapur upazila while trying to lift a motorcycle.The names and identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Officer in-charge of Gomastapur Police Station Firoz Ahmed told reporters that a group of 10-12 bandits intercepted a motorcyclist in Boalia area on Gomastapur-Bholanathpur road around 7:20pm and tried to snatch it.
Eyewitnesses said the locals rushed to the spot soon as the victim scrammed; they encircled the gang members and managed to catch four of them. The angry mob gave them a good beating, leaving them critically injured.
Being informed police rescued the injured robbers and took them to Gomastapur upazila hospital. The on-duty doctors declared one of them dead while the three others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital later.
Our Narsingdi Correspondent reports that two suspected robbers were killed and another was injured in a mass beating at Gandardia in Monahardi upazila of the district.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Officer in-charge of Monohardi Police Station SM Alamgir Hossain told journalists that a group 8-9 robbers were committing robbery on vehicles after putting barricade on Monahardi-Sukandi road placing a tree at  around 8:45pm.
Locals rushed in as the victims who left the spot empty handed informed them. The angry mob caught three of the robbers and gave them a good beating that left two bandits dead on the spot and the other injured.
Police rescued the injured at 11:30pm and took him to Monohardi upazila hospital.- Staff Reporter
