Thailand beat Nepal by 8 wkts in Women’s Asia Cup


Dhaka  – Nepal conceded an eight-wicket defeat against Thailand in the Asian Cricket Council Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup at Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok on Thursday.The Thai women chased a target of 64 runs in 16 overs for their 3rd win, riding on the opening partnership of 46 runs in 11.6 overs,between Nattakan Chantam and Sirintra Saengsakaorat.Nattakan Chantam scored 24 off 41 balls, including two boundaries, while Saengsakaorat added unbeaten 27 off 45 balls with a boundary,UNB News Agency Reported.Sarita Magar took both the wickets of opener N Chantam and one down batsman Nattaya Boochatham for Nepal conceding 13 runs in three overs.Batting first after winning the toss, Nepal scored 63 for all in 19.5 overs.Jyoti Pandeys was the only double digit scorer for the side with 16 off 26 balls, firing two boundaries.This is Thailand’s first win from four matches, securing two points.With the day’s defeat, Nepal lost all the four matches they played in the tournament.Nepal will face India in their next match at the same venue at
Bangkok on Friday.
