Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka Huseyin Muftuoglu yesterday stressed the need for ensuring quality and skills of doctors, nurses and others associated with cancer treatment.
He made this comment while visiting Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital (AMCGH) at Uttara.The Ambassador referred to the growing member of cancer patients in the world, including Bangladesh and highly appreciated the initiative of establishing cancer hospital in the private sector.
He pointed towards exploring the possibilities of exchanging doctors and nurses between Bangladesh and Turkey.
Kazi Rafiqul Alam, President, Dhaka Ahsania Mission and other senior staffs of the hospital were present during the visit.
Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital, first ever and the largest cancer treatment facility in Bangladesh, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 9 April this year.
Run on the ‘No loss-No Gain basis, the hospital will treat 30 per cent of it poor patients free of charges, says a press release. – Staff Reporter
