Two persons accused in the case over killing of a businessman and his driver were killed and another was injured in a ‘gunfight’ between their cohorts and police at Nagorikandi in Narsingdi early Thursday, reports news agency UNB.
The deceased were identified as Zahirul, 25, son of Yusuf Miah of Nagariakandi of the district town, and Rakib, 24, son of Syeed Miah while the injured was Hoosain, 22.

Tipped off that some suspected criminals, including a First Information Report (FIR) enlisted accused in the double murder case, were gathering in the area, a team of police launched a drive there around 3:00am, said sub-inspector of Sadar police station Manir Hossain.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the criminals opened fire at police prompting them to retaliate, triggering a gunfight around 3:30am.
Three people — Zahirul, 25, Rakib, 24, and Hossain 22 — were caught in the line of fire and sustained bullet injuries.
Later, police arrested them and rushed them to Narsingdi district hospital where doctors declared Zahirul dead around 4:00am.
However, the two other injured Rakib and Hossain were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition kept deteriorating. Rakib succumbed to his injuries at the DMCH around 8:00am, said SI Monir Hossain.
Police also recovered one pistol, two rounds of bullet and two sharp weapons from the spot.
All the criminals were wanted in several cases, including for murder and extortion, said the SI.
