UP member among 3 JMB suspects held in Naogaon


Dhaka – Police in a drive arrested three suspected members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh
(JMB), including a union parishad member, from Kashibari in Atrai upazila of Naogaon on Tuesday nigh, UNB news agency reported.The arrestees were identified as Moyen Sarder, 55, son of late Hurmat Ali, a newly-elected member of Kashiabari Union Parishad, Abdul High
Lutu, 55, son of late Abdul Tamij of Bhabanipur village, and M Jia, 35, son of Kaber Shah, a resident of Bhopara village.
Being tipped off that a group of JMB members were taking preparation to carry out subversive activities in Atrai, a team of police
conducted a drive at Kashibari and arrested the trio, said Officer-in-charge of Atrai Police Station M Badruddoza.
The arrestees were wanted in several sabotage cases, the OC added.
